ABOUT PŪLAMA COUNSELING

E Komo Mai

Sometimes life feels overwhelming.

That no matter what you try and where you turn you feel stuck. Looking around it may seem that everyone else has it all together, picture perfect, and successful. Maybe you have been asking, is it just me?

You are not alone.

We can all use a safe place to be heard; to feel understood; grieve if needed; and to heal, so that you can begin to discover what’s next for you.

I'm Joy Tanimura Winquist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and owner of Pūlama Counseling. Pūlama means to care for or cherish. Pūlama Counseling was founded because each of us deserves compassion and care; to feel loved and valued.  In order to live well we need to know our worth. Here at Pūlama, the goal is to help individuals thrive in their relationships with their self, others, and the world.

I specialize in helping individuals heal from trauma, and offering Story Work groups.  I utilize a variety of evidenced based approaches (EFT, EMDR, Narrative Focused Trauma Care) and other practices such as art and creativity that empower you towards healing, well-being, and joy.

I love what I do...especially to help others see the strength and truth inside of them.
