FAQ: FAQ

Confidentiality is one of the most important components of the client-therapist relationship.  A successful and productive therapeutic relationship requires a high degree of trust with highly sensitive information.  Every therapist should provide a written copy of their confidential disclosure agreement , and you can expect that what you share in a thearpy session will not be shared with anyone.


Sometimes, however, you may want your therapist to share information or provide an update to someone in your healthcare or social services team (ex: psychiatrist or case worker).  Your therapist by law cannot release that information without obtaining your written permission, this is called "informed consent". 

Otherwise, state law and ethics require that therapists maintain strict confidentiality except for the following situations:

  • Suspected or disclosed child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am mandated by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.


  • If a client threatens serious bodily harm to another person or persons, I must notify law enforcement and inform the intended victim. 


  • If a client shares they intend to harm themselves. I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in keeping them safe. However, if they do not cooperate I will need to take further action without their permission (that are within legal bounds) to ensure their safety.


​I refer to these exceptions as "the 3 hurts" when working with children and teens.

It is important for caregivers to know that although you may be your childʻs legal guardian, I am still bound to keep what your child shares with me confidential unless it falls under the exceptions of "the three hurts."  I do, however, encourage children and teens to share key pieces of information with their grown-ups to allow for their adults to appropriately support and care for them. 

For individuals, teens, and children, initial intake sessions (75 minutes) and sessions (55 minutes) are $200.

For couples and families, initial intake sessions (75-90 minutes) and sessions (55 minutes) are $200.​

I accept cash, credit card or check.


I currently accept HMSA PPO, HMAA, Kaiser (with referral), UHA and UHC insurance. I also accept HMSA and UHC QUEST plans. ​

It is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, because that is the foundation to trust.  Trust is key in any good working relationship. Once you find the right person to work with, and that trust is built, therapy is having a safe place to talk with someone who is there to listen, seek to understand, and challenge you towards healthier thoughts and actions.  Along the way we will also learn new skills, new ways of doing things, and practice healthier patterns.

The process is fairly simple:

  • Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we will work well together.


  • Next, we will work together, meeting likely weekly, towards your goals.  


  • As time goes on, you will start feeling more whole, connected, and joyful.

Yes!  I am happy to offer HIPPA compliant video or telephonic sessions through an online platform.  Please message or call me to set up an intake session.  

Fees: $150 for individuals (55 minute session); $170 for couples (55 minute session)
